How monitoring works?

  1. For every page to be checked, 1stmonitor sends a GET command. With this command, the entire monitored page is transferred to the monitoring station – just like a user was viewing the page. When a modification check is requested, 1stmonitor scans the page for the presence of the keywords. If keyword is not present, you receive an email notification message of the change.
  2. When GET command gives an error – it was unable to get the page - 1stmonitor repeats the GET command two more times at 1minute intervals. If the 3rd GET ends with an error, 1stmonitor sends you an email notification message that the website is down.
  3. 1stmonitor then continues to send GET command every 5 (15, 60) minutes. If problems persist you will be notified every 2 hours. After receiving a normal response from the GET command, 1stmonitor sends an email notification message informing you that the website is up again.
